Rhonda McCullough was devastated after Bernie Mac's sudden and unexpected death on the 9th of August 2008. She is still grieving for her lost love. McCullough appeared on Oprah: Where Are They Now? McCullough shared with Oprah that she still struggles to cope with her loss throughout the years following his death. McCullough stated, "My entire life was his. Since I was 16,." "I had no idea what I was going to do. I'm wondering, what's my reasoning for being now? What is my goal? What is my goal? To ease his breathing, he was put under general anesthesia, and then placed on a ventilator. When the doctors tried to insert the feeding tube inside the patient, McCullough recalls things taking a turn for the worst. She added, "He was shaking and his eyes were just, like, open and he wasn’t really looking at anybody."
