Julie Etchingham

 Julie Anne Etchingham, born 21 August 1969, is an English journalist and television newsreader for ITV News. After finishing her studies at Newnham College in Cambridge, Etchingham began working for the BBC as trainee. She was able to host Newsround which is a children's news programme that was a part of the BBC in 1994. After graduation from Newnham College in Cambridge, Etchingham joined Sky News as trainee in 2002. She also presented editions of Five News when Sky was granted the contract to develop news programming on Channel 5. In 2005, Sky acquired news programming for Channel 5 and Etchingham has been a newscaster at ITV News at Ten since 2008. She also presented the current affairs programme Tonight from 2010 to 2022, when she announced she would continue to occasionally be reporting for the show. She was named "Presenter of the Year" at the Royal Television Society journalism awards in the years 2010 as well as 2016.Etchingham was born and raised in Leicester, Leicestershire, where both her parents worked as teachers. Her family was a Roman Catholic, and educated at the city's English Martyrs Catholic School.After school, she went to Newnham College at the University of Cambridge where she earned an BA (Honours) degree in English. The first girl in her class to graduate from Cambridge after her primary school. She also completed her studies in English at Newnham College. She was also a co-presenter on the BBC Radio Cambridgeshire student programme On the Edge, produced by Ian Peacock. Her first job was in journalism with BBC Radio Leicester while still at school, and joined the BBC graduate programme from university
