Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (also known simply as Jack Ryan) is an American political action thriller television series, based on characters from the fictional "Ryanverse" created by Tom Clancy, that premiered on August 31, 2018 as Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime Video. The show was developed by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland. Cuse is the executive producer, along with John Krasinski and Michael Bay. Krasinski also stars in the show as the title character, which makes his the fifth actor in history to portray the role after Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine from the film series.In April of 2018, Amazon renewed the series for a second and final season, which was released on October 31, 2019. Amazon renewed the show in February of 2019 for a third series, which aired on December 21, 2022. The show was cancelled following the fourth season. It was announced in May 2022 that the series would end. This could have been to prepare for a 2023 final. A spin-off with Michael Pena as Ding Chavez is in development.The first season follows the titular CIA analyst as he is taken away from his desk job to the field after he discovers a string of dubious bank transactions, that are being carried out by a rising Islamic extremist identified as Suleiman.The second season finds Jack in the middle of the political battle in a corrupt Venezuela.
