It was announced just long after the success of the film that Kevin Kwan would be directing his entire trilogy. It's not there. Constance Wu, the star of the franchise has provided a few updates. She was Rachel Chu, an economics professor at New York University who falls in love with Nick Young (played here by Henry Golding). However she finds herself in the middle of a heated battle when she comes back to Singapore to tie the knot with him. Wu revealed that there's some momentum regarding the sequel to the rom-com and filming is on the minds of the producers. In addition, she shared a cute nugget about her friendship with Awkwafina who played Rachel's closest friend Goh Peik Lin in the film of 2018.
