Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong form the comedy duo Cheech & Chong. Cheech Marin and TommyChong have achieved both cultural and commercial success in the 1970s and 80s through their stand-up comedy routines and film and studio recordings. Chong, a Canadian citizen, was moved to Vancouver from California in the latter half of the 1960s with the help of Cheech. They also released numerous comedy albums and were featured in a variety of low-budget films. Some of their best-known sketches and songs are "Earache My Eye", "Basketball Jones", "Santa Claus and His Old Lady" and "Sister Mary Elephant". Their most well-known song is "Dave’s not here", which comes from their self-titled debut album. Then came the less popular Things Are Tough All Over (1982) and Still Smokin (1983). The pair attempted a departure from their raunchy comedy in 1984's Cheech & Chong's The Corsican Brothers.
