Vanilla Ice, one of the American artist who made a world-wide phenomenon with his hit song "Ice Ice Baby", is an American one-hit sensation. Born in the name of Robert Matthew Van Winkle, he was nicknamed Vanilla Ice when he was a teen. He was the product of a family that was broken. He wasn't aware of the identity of his father's biological father and moved often because his stepfather had a change of jobs. As a teenager ,he performed poorly in school and was thrown out without graduating. The one thing that set this young man above other children who came from homes with trouble was his incredible musical ability. He was a huge lover of hip-hop and enjoyed breaking dance, especially the move known as "ice". This earned him the nickname of Vanilla Ice. He started his own band, the 'Vanilla Ice Posse'. They performed on the streets, as well as in clubs. He was also passionate about motor racing, and won three consecutive championships in the National Grand Championship. After getting injured, he decided to stop racing professionally and instead focused his attention in music. His first album, 'Hooked,' was released. Later, 'To The Extreme was reissued. It included the hit song "Ice Ice Baby," which was his claim to fame. The album reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 and is credited for bringing hip-hop to the white audience.
