 American comedian, actor singer, voice-over artist, entertainer and writer Tim Allen. After years of struggle as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, and appearing in commercials on small-time television and cable shows, Allen finally got his breakthrough on ABC's sitcom "Home Improvement." The series lasted eight years and helped launch Allen's acting career. The show established Allen as an actor as well as comedian in Hollywood. Allen was offered roles in films like "Galaxy Quest" and "The Santa Clause". He also voiced the character of Buzz Lightyear on the animated series 'Toy Story. Prior to becoming an actor Allen's life was chaotic. Allen was only 11 years old when his father died. Allen took illicit drugs to earn cash. He was found guilty of possessing cocaine and was sentenced to prison for 28 month
