American actress Margaret Denise Quigley, is a film and television star. She is more popularly known by her stage name Maggie Q. Initially, she wanted to be a veterinarian scientist however, because of her family's financial limitations, she could not come up with the required funding. To make enough money to fulfill her goal and pursue her dream, she quit Honolulu, her hometown. She traveled to Tokyo to begin her modeling career. She then moved to Taipei and finally settled in Hong Kong. While she was in Hong Kong, she met famous Jackie Chan who took an instant liking to Q. Recognizing her full potential, Chan provided her with intensive training on how to become an action star. In 1998 she made her screen debut in the television drama 'House of the Dragon'. She was in her next feature film "Model from Hell", two years later. Q's performance in her next project , 'Geny Cops' led to her first appearance in a Hollywood film, Brett Ratner's 'Rush Hour 2'. Since then, she's been equally busy in both the Chinese and American film industry. She currently stars as Hannah Wells in 'Designated Survivors'.
