Torrence Ivy (Boosie BadAzz) was born in Louisiana. His father was Torrence Hatch Sr., who served as a pastor who passed away in 1997, as well as his mother, Connie Hatch, a school director. Boosie was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child. His brother, Young Dee, saw his potential when he entered his teenage years and began accompanying him to various events. In the late 1990s Boosie met Boosie and C-Loc Baton Rouge rapper C.Loc. Young Bleed, C-Loc, and MD helped mentor Boosie and taught him about the industry. In 1998, they finally allowed him to join Concentration Camp as the group's youngest member. C-Loc was joined by Lucky Knuckles and Boosie, who was the youngest participant of Concentration Camp. When Boosie was just 17 years old, He recorded his first album, "Youngest of da Camp." Happy Perez handled the production duties. Max Minelli, Donkey and C-Loc were featured on the album.
