Kirsten Caroline Dunst is an American actress who has German citizenship. She was born on April 30, 1982, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, to parents Inez (nee Rupprecht), who owned an art gallery, and Klaus Dunst, a medical services executive. Christian Dunst is her younger brother who was born in 1987. Her father, who is German-American from Hamburg, is her father. Her mother, who is an American of German as well as Swedish descent also is American. She started modeling at age 3 and appeared in commercials. She made her debut in feature films by playing an uncredited character at the age of 6 in the "Oedipus Wrecks" segment in Woody Allen's film New York Stories (1989).
