American actor and filmmaker Jon Cryer is best known for his roles in the TV series Two and a Half Men as well as the film Pretty in Pink'. Both his parents worked in the field of the entertainment industry, and so it was a natural progression for him to be enticed toward a career in acting. After the success of his Broadway debut in 'Torch Song Trilogy', he was able to be cast in a few roles in movies and TV serials before he got his first big break with "Pretty Pink" as a producer and writer. The movie, "Went to Coney Island with a Message From God... Be Back By Five," was shown at the Los Angeles Film Festival. It took him a while to establish as an actor, since his first TV serials were not a great success. His role in the show called 'Two and Half Men,' got the actor two Emmy awards, and then things began improving for his character.
