George Clooney

 George Timothy Clooney was born on May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky, to Nina Bruce (nee Warren) who was a former beauty pageant queen and Nick Clooney, a former anchorman and a television host (who was also the brother of the singer Rosemary Clooney). Clooney has Irish, English, and German roots. Clooney was born in Ohio and Kentucky and went to Augusta High School. He was extremely active in various sports, including baseball and basketball. He also was a player for the Cincinnati Reds, but was not offered a contract.After his cousin Miguel Ferrer, got Clooney a small part in an upcoming feature film, Clooney began to pursue acting. His first major role was on the sitcom E/R (1984) as Ace. More roles soon followed such as George Burnett, the handsome handyman in The Facts of Life (1979); Booker Brooks, supervisor on Roseanne (1988); and the detective James Falconer on Sisters (1991). Clooney was first noticed in 1994 when he was cast opposite Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies as Dr. Doug Ross in the drama series ER (1994).
