George Timothy Clooney was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Nina Bruce (nee Warren) an ex-beauty pageant queen, and Nick Clooney, a former anchorman and television anchorman (who was also brother to the famous singer Rosemary Clooney). Clooney has German, English, and Irish origin. Clooney was born in Ohio and Kentucky and attended Augusta High School. Clooney was active in sports like baseball and basketball. He was offered a role on the film of Miguel Ferrer. Clooney then began to contemplate acting. Clooney first appeared as Ace in the sitcom E/R (1984). There were more roles to come, such as George Burnett as Ace, the handsome handyman in The Facts of Life (1979); Booker Brooks as a supervisor in Roseanne (1988) and the detective James Falconer on Sisters (91). Clooney was first noticed in 1994, when he was cast in a role opposite Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies as Dr. Doug Ross on ER (1994).
