Cate Blanchett is an Academy Award winning Australian actress and theatre director most well-known for her role in the role of Elizabeth I of England in the flick "Elizabeth" as well as for her role as Katharine Hepburn in the movie The Aviator. Blanchett isn't just an actor, but she has had a long career in theatre. She was four times Helpmann Award recipient for the 'Best Female Actor In a Play' award. Her first interest in acting during her college years but was unsure about how to pursue acting professionally. She attended the University of Melbourne to study Economics, but she left quickly to pursue a career in acting. After that, she traveled overseas and attended acting classes prior to getting her first acting job. After a few years, she had was able to establish herself not just in her home country, but also on an international level. As of March 2018, she is the only actress to have received Academy Award nominations for playing the same character in two movies (she played Elizabeth I in both 'Elizabeth' and: The Golden Age'). Additionally, she is the only Australian actor to have received two Academy Awards for acting.
